Conventional fire alarms are generally used in small premises such as retail outlets, guest houses, small warehouses and factories. Its basic principle is that each fire zone is independently hard wired to a control panel and should a fire condition arise then the zone in which the cabling has been wired shall give indication of the location of the fire i.e., Fire in Zone 1 - this should then be cross-referenced against a zone chart to establish which area of the building is zone 1.
